STAINLESS STEEL
Resistance to corrosion and staining, low maintenance, and familiar lustre make stainless steel an ideal material for many applications where both the strength of steel and corrosion resistance are required.
Stainless steel is rolled into sheets, plates, bars, wire, and tubing to be used in: cookware, cutlery, surgical instruments, major appliances; construction material in large buildings, industrial equipment (for example, in paper mills, chemical plants, water treatment); and storage tanks and tankers for chemicals and food products. Corrosion resistance, the ease with which it can be steam cleaned and sterilized, and lack of need for surface coatings has also influenced the use of stainless steel in commercial kitchens and food processing plants.
Steel is a very tough and resilient metal. Strength, flexibility and workability are the key features that make stainless steel so
popular in the construction industry. It is durable, low maintenance and offers
a striking visual appearance, boosting its popularity for use in commercial and
high-profile architectural projects. It’s also a very sustainable and eco-friendly building material.
ALUMINIUM
Aluminium is remarkable for its low density and its ability to resist corrosion through the Phenomenon of passivation. Aluminium and its alloys are vital to the aerospace industry and important in transportation and building industries, such as
building facades and window frames.
Aluminium is a very desirable metal because it is more malleable and elastic than steel. Aluminium can go places and create shapes that steel cannot, often forming deeper or more intricate spinning. Especially for parts with deep and straight walls, aluminium is the material of choice.
While malleability is very important for manufacturing, aluminium’s greatest attribute is that it is corrosion resistant without any further treatment after it is
spun. Aluminium doesn’t rust. With aluminium there is no paint or coating to
wear or scratch off.
POWDER COATING
Products can be powder coated as requested in a variety of colours to value add to the workmanship of our product.
MILD STEEL
Mild steel is the least expensive of all steel and the most common steel used. Used in nearly every type of product created from steel, it is weldable, very hard and, although it easily rusts, very durable. This type of steel is able to be magnetized and used in almost any project that requires a vast amount of metal. Its structural
strength prevents it from being used to create load-bearing girders and
structural beams.
Many of the everyday objects that
are created of steel are made using mild steel, including automobile chassis, motorcycle frames, and most cookware. Due to its poor corrosion-resistance, it must be painted or otherwise protected and sealed in order to prevent rust from damaging it.
Mild steel is easily welded. The properties of the steel allow the electrical current to
travel through the metal without distorting the makeup of the material. Being
less brittle than high-carbon steels, the mild variant is able to flex and give in construction projects where a higher-carbon version could simply break.
TREX
Furnikation supports the exceptional quality of Trex - a high-performance composite deck board that is engineered to resist fading, scratches and stains, and eliminate time-consuming maintenance. This product is made of 95% recycled timber and plastic for improved durability and is eco-friendly. It is a great long lasting alternative to wood.
